Thursday Best Bites - Kanata Noodle House
Where: Kanata Noodle House, 500 Hazeldean Road, Units 112/113, Kanata, ON
What: BÚN - Vermicelli
Comments: I am happy (and sad) to replace my usual noodle place with this one. Heard good things about this restaurant on a few forums. Driven by the place many times (my favourite bakery is almost right next door) - glad we decided to stop in.
We ordered the pork spring rolls - one order consisted of two spring rolls cut in half. Probably the crispiest spring rolls that I have had, ever. Good flavour, not greasy and the standard Vietnamese dipping sauce had the right balance of salty and sweet - like a good Vietnamese dish should have. (Bonus was that they have half price appetizers Mondays to Wednesdays).
I ordered the Vermicelli with Chicken and Beef. The chicken and beef were delicious! Nice grilled flavour on both - tasted like it usually tastes, but with the volume turned up. A large bowl (only one size) which I struggled to finish - and did not. Chicken, beef, cucumber, rice noodles, lettuce, peanuts, scallions, mint and a bowl of their delicious dressing (Vietnamese dipping sauce) to pour over the top. YUM! Need to go back and try the PHỞ.
